Customer Reviews

This book is interesting to read, clear and well organized. The author doesn't suggest one best way to do things, but instead gives you all the knowledge you could need to understand pros and cons of various methods and develop a system that fits your goals, budget, and life style. I've read a lot on this subject and this book was the first to arm me with the understanding of how the plants work, how the available lights and equipment work, and how they do or don't work together. This book is a treasure. It should be noted, though, that it's not new and doesn't include LED lights or the newest other equip, but that's what I loved best about it, it didn't prescribe amazing thousand dollar toys, instead it talked about affordable, attainable methods anyone can find and use.

I've often thought about starting an apartment garden and, eventually, getting ambitious and trying to raise veggies indoors. But I could never find a good resource for doing so that wasn't about hydroponics. Then I found this book! It's a little out of date as it doesn't cover Grow LEDs, but otherwise it's fantastic! It goes over the basics of lighting an indoor garden, watering them, and then takes a look at the needs of each individual plant variety in an indoor setting. It's this latter bit that really makes this book shine.
